Cordy loved the way Angel made her feel. It didn't matter whether she was dressed in jeans, a beautiful evening gown or covered in feathers; she knew he thought she was the most beautiful woman in the world regardless of what she wore. But more than that, he made her feel beautiful.
She loved that he always seemed to know what she was thinking just by gazing into her eyes. It made her feel so special that someone knew her so well. For a long time, she'd thought he'd only gained that ability when they'd become involved, but looking back, she knew that wasn't true. He'd been able to do that long before they'd admitted their feelings for one another.
Lost in thought, she hadn't noticed as he'd walked into the room and slipped his arms around her. "You're beautiful," he whispered. She smiled as her hands joined his atop her very pregnant stomach. Most days, because of her pregnancy figure, she felt anything but beautiful, but her husband somehow managed to make her feel that way despite that. She closed her eyes and leaned into his embrace, thankful for the life they'd created and the life they'd made together.
