“Do you believe in magick?”
“Conn,” the book cracked loudly against Abby’s knees mirroring the disbelief in her tone. “Are you kidding me?”
“No.” He verbally shrunk a bit. “Seriously. It’s just, we spend our time chasing creatures that are supposed to be dead in times that we shouldn’t possibly experience. And it just seems so unreal, you know?” Abby chuckled brightly after a bit of awkward silence.
“I was a witch for a while back at university.”
