“You know I love you, right, LeeLee?”
The 10-year-old girl smiled and blushed at the nickname, only her father could call her that without her getting offended, “Yes, Daddy, of course.”
The man smiled some; then frowned, “I have to go away. I won’t be able to see you again.”
When left behind there was nothing to do but stay.
