Mai’s always been lucky. She’s been the golden girl with the silver tongue, but all metals are cold; metal is what swords are made of, swords and shields and pellets in shotguns. She is solid under the softness of her smile and her curves; yet stagnant, unrippled, and unmoving.

Isis takes her hand on a cloud-filled night, and takes her to the stars; not literally, of course, because Mai keeps her feet on the ground. Gentle motions, lips on lips, hands on hands -fire enough to melt metal, to make it a different shape.
