I like the phone numbers world building bit. I didn't quite get it in the second part, but now that I see more about it here I find it very intriguing.

Ahh, oops. I missed a part because I didn't realize they were part of the same series. Going back to read the tatoo one now. Still like the detail of it though.

In front of the mirror, Adam towel-dried his hair and stared at himself in the mirror, barely recognizing himself in some oversized shirt and drawstring shorts that were too big on Kris, but perfect on Adam.

Because now, Adam didn't see a slave, but a man reflected back in the glass. He didn't know how long this changed perception would last, but he hoped it would stick.

And as he curled up on the floor of the guest bedroom, with the door flung wide, so he would always have a way out, Adam started to believe maybe Kris was right.

This is so perfect and poignant! :) I love it so much!
