Title: Homecoming Prompt: "Oh, it's you." Bonus? No Word Count: 177 Rating: G Original/Fandom: Original (Unreal Cities 'verse) Pairings (if any): None Warnings (Non-Con/Dub-Con etc): None Summary: Going home is always the same.
From this one short scene, I understood the relationship between father and son perfectly. His father always made him feel small, didn’t he? Maybe unworthy? Simon never wanted to disappoint him, if anything, he tried his best not to, but some things can’t be changed, and he has accepted that he’ll never be enough to get his father’s respect.
I hope my deduction is right, because this snippet was interesting.
You pretty much nailed it perfectly! Simon's father wanted a son in his image and those were expectations Simon could never even have hoped to meet. Their relationship is very broken.
