Now that was an excellent idea! I wouldn't have thought of tying up the whole business with Mikhail and Ethan but it does indeed have sense and you did a great job with Desmond here. I could hear him all the way through, and Hurley's dialogue was just perfect. It makes sense that they'd kiss in such a situation and that the kiss would be short and I guess pretty awkward, but since it led to the glorious sex of that verse it was all good! ;) I really liked this one. Also, the last line was great, it's just the perfect example of denying something you already know you can't.

Yay! I'm really looking forward to all of your upcoming Des/Charlie fics for your table. The first kiss was a great way to kick off. I thought you captured Desmond's state of mind during the Naomi trek very well. He was very uptight and single-minded during those episodes. Part of me feels Desmond's choice not to get involved in the Lostees Vs Others feud is fair enough BUT he has just asked 3 Lostees to come on a dangerous mission with him. He owes them a little solidarity. It's one of Desmond's niggling flaws that he often asks for the Lostees to be in his corner and then fails to return the favour. Not always, but sometimes. I like that hearing about Charlie's hanging changed his perspective ( ... )

I loved their kiss - it reads so well the way you've written it as this spontaneous thing that only lasts until they realize what they're doing, and then the awkwardness afterward is perfect. I'm afraid I was lost with the canon references as I don't really remember any of that! (I know, I suck) But I still liked the kiss a lot.

Yay for Charlie/Desmond! I still have so much love for those two... So it's nice to read a fic about them once in a while. Great job!
