Summary: When Jacob takes Esau off of the island, he has to take precautions.
The roadtrip is difficult at first.
Jacob can't sleep, can't even close his eyes for fear that Esau might decide that now is the time to make a break for it. He handcuffs Esau to the radiator at night, but it doesn't mean much; with a puff of smoke he could be gone. Taking him off the island had been stupid -
But he stays.
"You don't have to do this, you know," Esau tells him after a week of sleepless nights. He holds his wrists out for Jacob as he threads the handcuffs through the bars. "I'm not going anywhere."
"I can't trust you." Jacob won't look him in the eyes. He knows that that is the way that Esau will manage to break him down. "This is just a precaution."
The metal locks around Esau's wrists, but Jacob lingers in his brother's personal space for a moment longer than he ought to; long enough for Esau to push forward and press their mouths together, eagerly persuasive and sinful. Jacob should push him away, but all he can do is groan and give into it, barely giving himself a moment to think. The chain of the handcuffs rattles against the metal, but the sound is barely heard above the beating of their hearts.
