“You look… nice,” Jason said, walking up behind Casey. She was wearing a short red satin dress.
She turned to look at him. “Figured I might as well get some use out of my hooker clothes.”
He handed her a glass of brandy, taking a sip of his whiskey. “You wore that undercover?”
“Once,” she told him.
“You didn’t get picked up,” he said. It wasn’t a question.
She laughed. “Nope.”
“That’s because you look too good.” He took her drink back.
“What are you doing? You just gave that to me.”
“Don’t you know better than to take drinks from men in bars?” He put both glasses on a nearby table and offered her his hand.
She stared at him.
“I told you twice, you look great. Way too good to just be standing in a corner.”
“And?”
“And, I just thought maybe the best looking girl should be dancing with the best looking guy.”
She rolled her eyes. “Oh, really? Have you seen him?”
He smirked. “This is the last time I’m gonna tell you. You look amazing.”
“Alright. You’ve gone from nice to good to great and now amazing. Pick one.”
“Nah,” he said, shaking his head. “I’d rather dance with you.”
