So it's been a long time since I've posted (never positively, I think?) and a long time since commenting... I just didn't have the *energy ( Read more... )

Congrats on having such a good day!

For me gabapentine decreases my pain. It doesn't help with much else other than that (and I think it helps me stay asleep longer but that could be the flexeril).

Did you feel less pain today and that's why you were able to do more?

I'm not exactly sure what triggered the good day, actually, which is why I was so stunned it happened!

I think maybe I wasn't as all around achey stiff owchie feeling? Maybe? They just didn't seem insurmountably difficult like they normally do.

I mean, if that's the case, then I'm afraid to think I've been having a years-long flare or something like that?

That's usually how i could tell a med was doing SOMETHING for me...i might not be getting up and going skiing or something, but i found i'd get more done before needing a break.

I went through the same thing with my insurance, they didn't want to cover Lyrica so i had to go on gabapentin for a while first. After i tried it for a couple months tho, it wasn't helping enough and they let me back on the Lyrica. You might not want to switch, but if you do, you should be able to after a few months. Good luck, hope more good days are in your future!

I hope the Neurontin's working for you. I like those hi-energy days. They are few and far between. I don't notice much from my Neurontin, but I don't take much.

If it does work for you, you can expect it to continue to improve as you get up towards therapeutic dosage.
For some people, this class of meds works miracles.
I ,sadly, am not one of those people.
My doctor has had great success with Neurontin, however.
