I take 600mg of Neurontin (split in two doses) and for me it works great for my nerve pain. Also helps me sleep a little bit better.

I tried Lyrica but I got way too many side effects.

*sorry to butt in!*

I had thought about trying Lyrica since I have had good results with the neurontin and thought they would be similar enough that I most likely wouldn't have an allergic reaction etc.

Do you have side effects with the Neurontin or was it just the Lyrica?

Nothing so far on the Neurontin and I've been on it for oh...about just over a year now. Lyrica was the one that gave me side effects and the only thing that my doc and me at the time could come up with is that it could have been "too strong". I don't think I was able to go past the 50mg (not sure about the dose, but it was low) with Lyrica due to getting side effects when trying to go to the higher doses but with Neurontin I'm fine. It's weird. :)

So far, *i've* had way more side effects with Lyrica. I was sleeping 14 hours a day for the first 4-6 weeks. I've only been on Neurontin for a week and so far it's made me drowsy, but nothing like that...

i am on prozac and trazadone. i am allergic to, sensitive to or have bad side affects from just about everything. seriously, i can take tylenol and that's about it - and i have very few side effects on these. i just have no appetite from the prozac, and a slightly dry mouth with the trazadone. i am on low doses of both. 20 mg of prozac, 25 of trazadone. generic of both. good luck.
