This is cross posted from my main LJ!!! I have Fibromyalgia and everything else that comes along with it. I'm on Lyrica and Klonopin. Even since my Fibro symptoms began, my sleep has been so out of whack. Now that I've been officially diagnosed by my Rheumatologist...I think my doctors are taking my sleep disorder more seriously. It gave me splitting, dizzying headaches, so I couldn't take it. I find benadryl works wonders for sleep, and is rather safe.

Why are you against anti-depressants?

Yeah, I take my share of Benadryl for my allergies...and it's a wonder drug...and affordable ;c)

I'm not against anit-depressants, I just don't want them for me. I've had some pretty bad addiction issues in my past and I've promised myself not to take anything to make me feel that way again. Basically, I'm a big baby scaredy-cat!

I've been on trazadone for years and it has worked great for me. I take 75mg at bedtime and it knocks me out and helps me sleep. If I get up in the middle of the night (doesn't happen often but if I'm oncall for work I'm often awakened), my doc said I could take another 75mg to help me get back to sleep.

These meds work differently for different people so you may want to try something different if it doesn't work for you.

I remember when I tried one of the current sleep meds, I was awake for 3 days heh.

On even a low dosage I had horribly vivid dreams. on a higher dosage; I slept so thoroughly that I ended up wetting the bed. suffice it to say, I do not take it anymore!!

That's horrible, I'm sorry. Bad dreams, yeah...that's not good for sleep..haha. Thanks for letting me know your experience.
