Hi everyone. I'm Christine and I was officially diagnosed with fibromyalgia last week. I also have asthma, allergies (treated with shots, highly recommended), and Sjogren's Syndrome. I'm 23 years old. I'm so glad this community exists. It helps to know there are others out there who understand how hard fibromyalgia is. Here's my story.

I was diagnosed with fibro in January and just having an anser and realizing that it's ok to acknowledge the hurts or fatigue because i have a reason rather than just being lazy... yeah in high school and college i was alway busy and never home. But now through grad school all that has had to change thanks to fibro.
You've inspired me to re-intro myself and become more active in the comm. So, thanks. Was starting to feel a little out of place or something. Now that I know there's at least one other member whose a lot like me, I'm good again. /smiles/
So thanks again and good to meet you.

Unlike you, I wasn't particularly active until /after/ I got fibro. Two months after I got it, I joined a Ninjutsu class; something I've wanted to do my whole life. I got pretty far before I had to leave, but my Sjogren's hit hard. (Apparently, you shouldn't try to do katas with Pancreatitis or liver problems... who knew? :D) I went from there to yoga, but have even had to temper that a bit. It's so hard to be passionate about a certain physical activity, and not be able to kick butt, and push the limits you could push previously.
I wish you all the luck and support in the world. It sounds like you have a very "take-charge" personality, and that will serve you well with this illness. Take care, and welcome to the community!
