The minute him and Krystal were done talking and he had the directions printed out, he set off in his car. There was nothing to stop him now and he was going to see Taemin no matter what. It had been too long. He regretted letting Taemin go in the first place. He shouldn't have listened to his mother in the first place, but now was his chance to fix his mistake. He knew where Taemin was and he was going to go get him.

Choi Minho had always been the ambitious type. He'd been a real go-getter when it came to playing soccer and getting good grades. He didn't have too many friends, but that was because he'd always had Taemin and didn't think he needed anyone else. He didn't need anyone else. That was why he was driving all this way to see Taemin. It was a long way from Jackson to Werner, but it would be worth it to just see him again.

From what Minho could remember Krystal had said Werner was big, much bigger than Jackson. He hadn't been many places outside of California and he knew being from California people would have thought him to be more city-orientated, but that wasn't the case. He just wanted to find Taemin and go back to where they were from. Jackson was his home, after all. It was Taemin's too and he was going to bring him back no matter what it took.

He eyed the road carefully until he saw the exit he needed to turn on and smiled.

~

It was late morning when they both woke up. They snuggled for a little bit, but in less than an hour they were on the road and on their way back to civilization. They commended themselves for being able to with stand a whole night in a tree house together with nothing but blankets, pillows, and granola bars.

Taemin lay haphazardly in the passenger's seat with one foot on the dashboard and the other leg crossed over, foot dangling dangerously close to Jonghyun's face. "Hey, buy me some food. Your granola bars suck," he whined with a wave of his foot.

Jonghyun glanced at him before glancing back at the road, "You think that's how to ask for food after I gave you the most amazing night of your life?"

"Oh, Jonghyun, thank you so much for letting me sleep in a cold-wooden fort in a sleeping bag amoungst the bugs and wild animals while your hard on pressed into my side. Seriously, thank you," Taemin teased.

It irked Jonghyun, but he decided to let it slide for one reason or another, "Ha, you are so funny, Tae. Let me just make you a granola bar sandwich, hold the wheel."

Sadly, he couldn't have been more serious and they took a swerve before Taemin could get himself up and take the wheel while Jonghyun leaned over the back of his seat, searching through his bag.

"God dammit, are you trying to kill us? Turn around and stop the car if you're going to search your bag like that. I just said I don't want your stupid granola bars anyway," Taemin pouted as he steered the best he could.

Jonghyun turned around and took the wheel again, letting Taemin relax, and then pulled off the nearest exit and pulled into a Mc Donalds parking lot. "What do you want?" Jonghyun asked bluntly.

"Oh, so you're really treating me to something special, huh? I feel like a top-quality brod, Jjong," he smiled at the older boy, his voice as thick as honey.

"Shut up," Jonghyun retorted, but was still smiling. Then, he grabbed Taemin by the back of his head and pulled him forward. The kiss got more intense until Taemin was half-way in Jonghyun's lap and they broke to see an old couple giving them a dirty look as they got into their own car. Taemin laughed and Jonghyun pushed the younger boy back into his own seat, "Seriously, what do you want?"

Taemin thought about it for a minute and then said, "Just get me a sausage biscut and some orange juice, okay?"

Jonghyun smiled and let his hand run over Taemin's cheek before saying, "Can do, be back in a second."

It was then, while he sat in the car alone and let their night together run through his head, that Taemin let himself believe that he might have been in love with Jonghyun. He brought him to creepy treehouses and bought him cheap food, but really it was the time and effort that Jonghyun put forth that Taemin appreciated more than anything. He had that giddy school-girl feeling that he was sure he'd never really had before and he didn't know what to do with it except maybe use it to make out with Jonghyun more when he got back.

Eventually, the two got home. How was anyone's guess, but they did get home even if every few miles Jonghyun stopped the car to pull Taemin into his lap and kiss him like he'd never see him again. When they got to Jonghyun's house they shared one more long, drawn out goodbye kiss before Taemin got into his own car and headed home.

When Taemin finally got home it was around noon. He got in the door and saw his mother in the living room watching TV like she usually did on the weekends.

"Did you have fun last night?" his mother asked even though he really hadn't told her much about where he was going or what he would be doing.

"Uh, yeah," he didn't really know what he should say.

"I thought your brother would be with you. His car isn't here, but I thought he might still come around with you" she said suspiciously, like she was trying to catch him in a lie.

"Right, we were together, but he was still asleep. It really isn't a big deal. Just a guy thing, mom," he lied through his teeth.

She sighed deeply, "Well, I guess I shouldn't complain. At least you and Jinki seem to be getting along better these days."

"Yeah, everything is just fine," Taemin said nonchalantly as he headed up the stairs with the vague memory of seeing Jinki's car outside Jonghyun's house and knowing exactly what it meant, but he let it go as he entered his room. He plopped down on the bed and let himself give a sigh of relief and satisfaction before seeing that his phone was flashing on his night stand. He'd left it there because there was really no reason to bring it where he went, he wouldn't have had service anyway.

He picked it up and glanced at the screen for a second before the realization hit that he had 356 texts and 164 missed calls. He let his mouth fall open for a moment before he saw they were all from Krystal. Something was wrong and he knew it before he even saw the contents of any of the texts. He didn't know what had happened, but he imagined he wasn't going to like it.

~

"We could be like t.A.T.u," Jinki said from his side of the bed, sweat glistening on his chest and brow. They'd been in the same place for twelve hours and had gone at it more times than Key could count on his fingers. It was a miracle they weren't starving, but Key knew from his own feelings that the only thing he was hungry for was Jinki's-- well, you get the idea.

Key furrowed his brows and then looked over at Jinki from his pillow, "Why do you always say the most random shit?"

Jinki frowned, "I didn't think it was very random. I mean, they're two lesbians running away together and singing and fighting against a society that won't let them be together. That's sort of relevant, isn't it?"

Key smiled a little, but rolled his eyes all the same, "We're not fighting against anything. We don't have to. We can just be, so why go through all that complicated bull?"

"But we can't just be together."

Key raised an eyebrow, "and why not?"

Jinki looked at Key seriously for a moment and then averted his eyes to the ceiling, "There are a lot of things. Just don't tell anyone about this, okay?"

Key growled as he pushed himself up on one arm, "Are you fucking kidding me, Lee Jinki? We've been laying in this bed having sex for twelve-fucking-hours and you're still fighting against this? What is this to you?"

Jinki smirked over at Key, "It's nice, really, it is, but there are a lot of complicated pieces to the puzzle," he reached over a stroked Key's cheek.

Key pushed Jinki's hand away from his cheek and stood up, leaving the covers behind standing in the nude before the older boy, "Look at me," and when he was sure he had the other's attention he continued, "I have a fucking penis, okay? You already knew that before you followed me back to my house. You were following me yesterday too and that's fine, but if this isn't going anywhere I want out. I have a penis just like you and that's something you're going to have to get over."

A whirl-wind of emotions played over Jinki's face as Key spoke, but Key couldn't pin point any one of them. He was sure Jinki was going to leave any minute now. He was just waiting to hear the excuse.

"Key," Jinki started, but instead of going on, Key felt one arm snake around his waist and one hand grasping his chin and forcing him to look eye-to-eye with Jinki. Key felt his face redden immediately. "You're right. If I wasn't over the penis thing, I wouldn't have come looking for you. There are other things than your schlong in the world, you know? I know I haven't been that stable before now, but trust me when I say I need time."

Key couldn't remember how to speak, so he just nodded, feeling dazed and still lost in Jinki's eyes. The older boy smirked again and connected their lips into another kiss that may have led to them getting back into bed.

Taemin arrived at Krystal's house unsure of what to expect. She'd said she had a surprise for him and nothing was wrong, but he needed to hurry up and get over their because his surprise was perishable. He still felt cautious and something told him he shouldn't let his guard down just yet. There was just a feeling he had and he couldn't quite put his finger on it, but he knew he could only truly relax after he knew exactly what Krystal had in store for him.

He rang the doorbell and waited no more than three seconds before it swung open. "You're here, good. I think you'll be happy, but if you're mad don't tell me, okay? I really think you'll like it."

Taemin looked at her skeptically, but nodded anyway, "Okay."

She grabbed his hand and led him inside. He let himself be brought into her living room as his eyes searched every corner they could see until caught sight of a person and nearly jumped at the sight of him.

It was Minho.

"Suprise," Minho said in that cool-deep voice that he'd always had and that had always melted Taemin since the day Minho hit puberty.

Taemin was silent. He'd let go of Krystal's hand at some point and he was sure his face had to be a sickly ghost white color right about now. His throat and stomach were both in knots and he felt sweat quickly gathering on his palms. There were so many things he was feeling at that moment and he really couldn't think straight at all, so it wasn't surprising that when he came a little bit to his senses that Krystal was calling out to him and waving her hand in front of his face.

"Taemin? Don't space out on me right now. Say something!"

"Huh?" He looked at her like he didn't recognize her for the world. She seemed totally alien to him right now, like a whole 'nother world. "I-" he started, but he wasn't sure where to go from there. There were too many things he was thinking.

That's when he pushed her aside and walked up to Minho. He was there and no matter how much Taemin had been wishing he'd be there for weeks and weeks before, he now wished he would just disappear. He decided quickly that he was feeling angry, really angry, for a variety of reasons. Without much further thought he grabbed Minho's hand and began dragging him toward the door. "We've got to go. I'll call you later."

They were out the door before Krystal could protest and Taemin really didn't care if she did at the moment.
