Proud was right up there with "cold, wet and tired" at the end of it ;) I read a really good book called "Slow Fat Triathlete" which really boosted my confidence to have a go even though I wasn't actually all that well trained for it :)

That's fantastic - congrats! I've always wanted to try a triathlon, but haven't gotten up the nerve to sign up and train for one yet (man, it has been over 10 years since I've wanted to, I need to get off my butt and just do it already). Glad to hear it was a fun experience for you :D

Turns out there's this invisible sub culture of people that do it ... like I mentioned it at work one time and this average-fit looking woman said "Well done," then followed it up by saying she does half Ironmans every year (just looking up the distance of a full Ironman says I'm possible a Cardboardwoman or Polystyrenegirl.)

I'm very impressed! I don't think I could have broken my own arm to get out of a triathlon that I signed up for ;) (kidding, of course ( ... )

Geeze Tygrr! Now you, I would expect to recognise it.

It's old Everquest avatars, bearded dwarf in chainmail (man those chainmail helms were ugly). Had a druid friend park their wolf form beastie and then posed it so it looked like I had a mount. PRE MOUNT DAYS! Oh yeah, we had to make our own entertainment back then (get off my laaaawn kids!).
