Kahakai means 'beach' in Hawaiian and this beachside bar features a Polynesian-style thatched roof, refreshing trade winds and billion dollar views of Mauna Kea and the blue Pacific. A variety of tropical libations and mouth-watering pupu (appetizers) are served.

While Puck had spent the vast majority of his day napping and enjoying the sun, he knew that eventually it'd be time to put on a shirt (only because they were forcing him to) and find somewhere else to be.

The bar seemed like a good enough place, and he managed to avoid having to drink any fruity pink things in favor of a beer. And yes, he'd spent a solid amount of time giggling at the appetizer names.

"It's really not all that funny," came a drawl from somewhere beside him. Kate wasn't drunk, but she'd had a good start. Enough to loosen up some of the near-permanent tension in her shoulders that no one but a person she wasn't thinking about had ever even noticed. "Foreign languages are weird."

That little... hissy fit, yesterday? Neeever happened. Wasn't that how it worked? If she wished it so it became the truth?

"It's pretty funny," Puck replied, looking over mid-snicker. "Thought you were mad at me, anyway."

So much for denial. Sorry, Kate.

Kate rolled her eyes. "Oh please," she said, picking up her drink again, "I'm not mad at anyone."

That was a lie. Or, more likely, yet another example of denial.

"You're a really good actress then," Puck decided, sipping his beer. "I'm impressed."

"Well, I am awesome in a lot of different ways," Kate replied over her Singapore Sling. It was red, with weird foam on top, and it was delicious. "That's just one of them. But really, we're in Hawaii, and that's supposed to be a happy place, right? So why would I be mad?"

"Because I said your boyfriend looks like a tool," Puck said logically. "Which was shitty of me, so I'm sorry. If you really are mad."

Except he really was sticking by his biggest point there: she could do better than that.

"I'm not mad," she insisted, making a face at the whole idea. "And he's not even really my boyfriend, I mean, it's still kinda casual and everything and that's partly because it's long distance? But you're right, it was extremely shitty of you."

So maybe she was a little mad, still. And just intoxicated enough to feel a little rambly.

"I shouldn't have said it out loud," he agreed, shrugging. "I'll buy you another one of whatever that red thing is when you're done to make it up to you. All better?"

"All better," Kate agreed, because she didn't really want to be fighting with anyone today. She'd wanted to drown a person or two earlier (even though she'd claim she hadn't been watching them at all), so she'd rather not feel quite as aggressive again.

"He doesn't look like a tool but okay." Just getting that out there. She raised her glass a bit. "It's a Singapore Sling, and it is very fucking tasty."

"Girls are lucky to be able to drink that stuff without someone making fun of you," Puck sighed, eyeing the drink. "Don't get me wrong, my beer is fucking awesome, but I can't order anything that looks like that and have any dignity left."

Kate snorted. "If your dignity depends on what you're drinking, then you're screwed anyway," she noted with a brief raise of her brows. "That's just lame."

"My dignity doesn't depend on it," he said indignantly. "Just...you know, it helps if it's not pink."

Ariel was trying to make some rounds, too hyped up on energy from the exciting days, and that meant sidling up to Puck when she spotted him.

"Hi, Puck."

"You're all sneaky," Puck noted when she popped up at his elbow. "Hey, Ariel. How's vacation treating you?"
