Clarice was glad it was cold out. It was always easier for her to get out when it was cold because then she could wear clothes that hid her unusual appearance

The cold was okay for Hermione. She would prefer to stay indoors and read a book, of course, but even she knew that now and then a walk in the park could do no harm. Allowing herself some time out of the ever-tiring research was only logical, then.

As she neared the park, she noticed someone else was already there, feeding the birds. Although she wasn't a fan of it, interaction wouldn't kill her, hopefully. Hermione couldn't make the features of the person, but she could tell it was female, if not a particularly girly boy; with the clothes it was hard to tell . It's not that cold, thought as she came closer. "Good afternoon", called when she was at speaking distance.

It was just cold enough to act as an excuse. And not quite warm enough to make it too uncomfortable.

Clarice glanced up, hoping the hood would hide her face enough.

"Hi." she said shyly. "Um, nice day."

The hood did hide her face, although Hermione managed to get a glimpse of skin that was certainly not...regular. Was that pink? No, darker. Purple. If she didn't live in a world full of magic, she might have been a little more shocked. It wasn't too hard to connect the dots and assume just why the other girl was trying to go unseen.

"Nice, if a bit chilly", agreed as she tried not to stare. It was rather easy, but her curiosity just wouldn't stop trying to make her take a second look. "I'm Hermione, nice to make your acquaintance", added as she glanced at the birds. When in doubt, be formal.

Clarice wasn't sure if Hermione had noticed or not. Usually when people saw her skin they made a big deal out of it. Usually in a bad way.

"I'm Clarice. It's nice to meet you too. Are you from England?"
