Piper normally didn't mind going to work. She liked working at Java the Hut. It was within walking distance. Plus, she sometimes got free coffee. Tonight was different, though. It was karaoke night, which was why Piper could be found quietly banging her head against the counter

Phoebe hadn't talked to Piper in far too long and thus, time for a phone call.

Piper used this phone call as an excuse to go on break a few minutes early. "Hi Phoebe."

"Hi Piper... Gods, where are you? It sounds like someone is massacring chickens there."

"I'm at work. It's karaoke night," Piper explained as she stepped outside, away from the noise.

Veronica got back from her impromptu trip and decided to head over to visit Piper at work. Mostly hoping to score free coffee.

"Hey, roomie."

"Hey, you're back," Piper said, grinning at her roommate as she handed her some coffee. "That's on me."

"Thanks," Veronica grinned back. "Yeah, I just got back. I dropped my bag off at home and came straight over here. How's everything been going?"

"Despite the bad karaoke, things have been pretty quiet," Piper replied. "How was San Diego?"
