The Goblin City, Saturday Afternoon

Dec 11, 2010 09:41

Somewhere past the giant robots, past the oubliettes and the twisting messes of hedges and woods, there was a wall. This would not be a remarkable discovery, given how the entire Labyrinth seemed to consist of nothing but walls, granted. But this wall was decidedly different. This wall was all that stood between the Distraction Team and the Goblin ( Read more... )

You have to get past them and into the city proper!

A wall topped with goblins. Or as Leia liked to call it -- target practice. She was firing away, trying to take a bunch of them down.

Squall looked up at the goblins, evaluating their defenses. They didn't look so tough, actually. If he just had a weapon, maybe he'd be able to mount a frontal assault.

Speaking of which ...

"I brought you a present," Rinoa said. And with that, she produced his gunblade, offering it to him hilt-first.

"I found it on the beach," she said. "Shouldn't leave it lying around. Something could happen to it."

Don't you scare me like that again went unsaid.

Now that you're inside, you can just barely glimpse another exit on the other side of the city. Fight your way home!

"All right." Tim said, standing tall and brandishing his sword. "Let's do this." And look, there was a bunch of Goblins coming to say hi!

As the last of Jareth's captives gives in to the power of friendship and all that jazz, an angry scream pierces the air, and the whole world seems to shake.

It would seem that Jareth is a sore loser, because the Labyrinth is cracking and crumbling around you! It's a good thing that you're so close to the exit, because being in the middle of the goblin city means that you've got buildings coming down left and right!

... At least your powers are back, if you had any. Get out of here!

If anyone noticed that Tim used the returned powers of his sword to um, help some of the houses collapse, he would be prepared to defend his actions. Probably.

Sure, Squall was the person who kept insisting he didn't need any help, and could do everything just fine on his own. But as soon as he felt the familiar presence of his Guardian Forces again, he called on his favorite one.

Quezacotl arrived as a ball of lightning in the shape of a bird, and started attacking the remaining goblins.

Rinoa was not going to let out the sorceress powers. It was dangerous, and she still had Professor Skywalker's shields firmly in place.

But upon realizing she had her magic back, she absolutely had to stop in place and call out a Meteor strike.

Rocks fall, goblins die.

Damn, she had missed that.
