Nathan wasn't really there to drink but he'd grabbed something anyway before sitting down and looking slightly uncomfortable.

That was just his way.

Anders looked half-uncomfortable and half-bemused as he slid into the seat across from Nathan, albeit for slightly different reasons. He'd agreed out of sheer curiosity as to what would happen to help Hannibal and Karla with the kitchen takeover, which promised to be either fun ... or a complete disaster.

He was trying not to think about the potential for disaster. The teachers would take the fall anyhow, right?

"Hi," he began. "So guess who got asked to help our teachers be delinquents tonight?"

"Would that be you?" Nathan wondered, raising an eyebrow. "That sounds like it could be an adventure. Depending on the teacher, I guess."

"That would be me," Anders nodded. "It's Karla and Professor Starsmore and Dr. Lecter? I don't know him but he said he has a plan to make the food on the ship better. Which naturally involves sneaking into the kitchen at night."

Because of course it did.

He smiled a bit, scratching under his collar. "If he makes anything good, I'll bring you back some."

"I haven't much minded the food that's been served," he admitted, shrugging. "It's been different but tasty. But, that could just be me."

"I've had a lot worse," Anders conceded. "But for how much they fuss over it, with the courses and the china and the silver and all, it's not very good. And I don't like the canned fruit they keep sneaking into things. It tastes wrong."

"Everyone's different," he said, shrugging again. "I don't mind it. It tastes good but I'm sure I think about food differently than other people. So, hopefully whatever they're doing isn't gonna get anyone into too much trouble."

"Same here," Anders said, furrowing his brow. "For one thing, it'd ruin vacation if I got tossed overboard. But I think they have a plan that should work."

"If you got tossed overboard, I'd throw you a flotation device," Nathan teased. "And come and talk to you every once in awhile."

Anders laughed."You're sweet," he decided. "And I'd attach the float to the boat with a rope and just let it tug me along. It'd be fine."

"You might get sunburned," Nathan mused, wincing. "I'd try and toss you some of that lotion they sell here."

"I should get some of that anyhow before I get pinker," Anders remarked, rubbing at his rather sunburned nose. "But if I'm floating in the ocean I'd need it even more."

"I'll be sure to keep you fully stocked," Nathan promised. "So, just be prepared for that while you're...doing whatever rule breaking food stuff you're doing tonight."

"I think I'm mainly there as guard?" Anders guessed. "Oooh, or maybe getting things really cold or really hot quickly. I've never made ice cream but I bet I could learn."

He reached across the table to rest his hand on top of Nathan's, and added,more seriously, "Anyhow, any luck and I'll be in bed beside you with a plate of takeout for my trouble before midnight"

"If you're not, I'll know what happened," he said, giving Anders a small smile. "And I'll be sure to come and find you when I wake up."
