Pacific Princess, Wednesday Morning/Afternoon

Feb 24, 2015 23:53

For those of you not sleeping off hangovers due to last night's jaunt into the fictional future, it was a beautiful morning just off the Mexican coast. And about mid-morning, the ship would be pulling in to dock in Puerta Vallarta. If you do decide to head off onto dry land, just be sure to make it back before the ship leaves at 6pm sharp! And for ( Read more... )

Everyone will find their berths on the Aloha Deck, with outside twin rooms (that have either twin beds or a double for your moddable needs) that provide a view of the ocean as it goes past. (Keep the NSFW in private journals, please!)

"NOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!"

Guess who just realized that the technology blackout meant that she'd missed the Agent M finale.

Go ahead and guess.

Before they left the ship, Hannibal was going to try to find any of their potential minions who might still be aboard. Anyone they missed, Jono could try later, but as this was primarily his plan, Hannibal felt he should probably do some of the legwork himself.

"Would it be rude if I just sent a generalized mental call to people?" Karla asked, carrying Kayla in her arms. She had no idea how people with Craft managed to care for children; she couldn't fathom having to lug around a diaper bag as heavy as the one she'd just packed. "Seems like it would be infinitely easier."

"I don't know," Hannibal said after a moment of thinking. "I've never had to debate the manners inherent in telepathy. Would it be the equivalent of politely tapping everybody on the shoulder to ask, or yelling in their ears?"

"I can do either, though I was leaning more towards politely tapping," Karla said with a smile. "And some of the students, like Anders and Kaylin, I'm not too worried about. But I don't know Rapunzel and I'm not sure if Emma would appreciate it anyway, so I figured I'd defer to your judgment, since you know them better."

She also figured Sparkle would be fine, since he was the student she knew best. Like Karina, she'd befriended him before she'd graduated and come back a teacher.

"I imagine Rapunzel would be fine with it, though prepare yourself for some enthusiastic questioning," Hannibal answered with a grin. "Emma might be a bit more skittish."

"Maybe her enthusiastic questions can help me forget just how short the shorts were on the male I passed on my way to your room," Karla said with a pained expression. "If Kayla hadn't been napping, I would have felt the need to cover her eyes."

Clearly manscaping hadn't been inventing in the 70s, either. How Karla missed metrosexuality.

"If that doesn't work, think of this," Hannibal told her. "I got Jono into a bathing suit yesterday." Did he sound suitably smug (pun always intended)?

Kaylin was wandering the ship because, well, because most of it was so confusing. People wearing next to no clothes by the pools and sooo very much water everywhere and machinery and people coming in and out and everywhere and well... just everything.

She sighed a little in relief when she saw Hannibal. "Hello. Do you find this place very strange too?"

"Probably not as strange as you do," Hannibal answered with a smile. "I was a child the first time through these years, but I remember them." He watched a man in a very unfortunate polyester leisure suit pass by. "Unfortunately."

"This is your world then, just... from before?" Kaylin found it all weird, so why not traveling in time?

"I don't know if it's mine precisely, but it's close enough." Hannibal grimaced. "I rather hope it is, because I should hate to think more than one world would come up with spam."

Despite the fact that Jono also knew what it was, so there was that hope dashed.

"Have you been enjoying it at all?" he asked her. "I imagine a vacation must be a bit frustrating." She didn't seem like the sitting-still type.

Kaylin shrugged. "I'm doing a lot of running down below decks. I keep scaring the staff. But they're everywhere. And the stars are nice. But the people, well, there are too many and I can't wear my daggers and so it all makes me edgy. And there's lots of food, but it's very strange."

She'd eat anything, but that didn't mean she had to like it.

"That is certainly one word for it." Hannibal grimaced. "Actually, you could help with that, if you like."

Kaylin looked horrified. "Me?? I can use one of those microwave thingies to heat things up, but I can't cook!"
