Summary: A well, a wish.

The sun had just dipped down and kissed the horizon line, setting the sky on fire with varicolored hues.

'The sky only looks so red around Cosmo Canyon, never here.' The blonde blinked slowly, taking in his surroundings. Everything felt slow, as if being submerged in water and forced to move against the pressure. Suddenly a new thought came to Cloud, 'Where is here anyways?'

The landscape was a confusing hodge-podge of familiarities and locations not seen by his Mako filled eyes. Mountains stretched high as the ranges of Nibelheim and flat lands thrown in for good measure. Everything was disorientating for the fighter.

Carrying on into the dusk kissed terrain lead the lithe warrior to the ruins of a building. The walls were rock; touched by time, crumbling in areas, strong in others.

"Where am I? It's like a dream, but I'm sure I didn't fall asleep..."

A reply came from a darkened corner, spooking the youth. "A time that isn't a time, in a place that isn't a place. That's all I can figure at the moment."

Whirling around Cloud watched as a taller figure walked to meet him; he should know this man, the voice was familiar - it haunted his dreams.

"Sephiroth." The silver haired man raised a delicate eyebrow, questioning, but nothing more came from the youth.

"I found a well. I can't get water from it, when I try, the bucket is bone dry. But if I drop something down it, i can hear water." The older man walked, not caring if Cloud followed or not. Of course, the blonde would follow.

"Maybe, it's a wishing well?"

The long haired man laughed, the sound harsh and sardonic in the cooling night. "And what would you wish for Cloud?"

A scowl slid into place on the younger man's face. "I don't know."

Sephiroth tossed a coin at him, watched as he caught it deftly, then told him, in a voice that was like rough silk, to make a wish.

Cloud eyed the coin, then well. Shrugging, the coin was tossed down the well, a wish placed as the coin hit the water.

The two men stood, waiting, eyes roaming back and forth waiting for something to happen. After being met with disappointment, CLoud turned and sat on the lip of the well, arms resting on the edges.

Gloved hands slid over his and the blonde tilted his head and body back to try to see Sephiroth. He was met by vivid eyes and a coy smile.

"Can I help you?" Cloud asked, unsure of what to do, or how to react to his commanding officer's actions.

Any further words were silenced by a kiss. Firm and soft all at the same time, cloying and sweet. It was exactly what Cloud had wished for.
