Supergirl costume

I'm putting in a scene in which Supergirl attends a literary lunch hosted by the First Lady at the White House. Does this sound about right for costume?

You'd probably want to say something about the material, I think. Is the kaftan Kryptonian lycra, like her cousin's working clothes, or wool or something else?

On the picture, I'd be tempted to reverse the colours on the 'S' symbol, so that the S is gold on red, and interlink them somehow.

I don't think I'm going to publish the picture with the story, I just did it to see what the costume would actually look like.

The materials are a good point - I think I'll describe the blue material as "silky" and the red as "a coarser woven fibre" and leave it at that.

I've gone with "A woven material resembling linen" for the kaftan and "silky" for the blue material."

The pic (which I know you're not going to use) makes the over-robe/kaftan look like a brocade - which is a term you might use.

I'd be a bit confused by the phrase 'usual S logo' - is there another one? "Trimmed with embroidered representations of the S logo" or something might work better.

I rather like that look...
