Warning to the Community

Jun 02, 2012 04:55

Someone in our community is getting their jollies from the the current situation over at ffdotnet. No surprise, its fanficcleanup.

I think this is absolutely appropriate here - I don't want to be alarmist, but be very careful about mentioning your stories as possible take-downs, especially if your user name is the same on ffdotnet as it is here. Because she's been trolling this site, leaving passive-aggressive responses to people who are upset and could very well retaliate against anyone who calls her out.

Below are public entries from her journal.
Bolding is mine.

Fanfiction, net rants, especially right now, because it is very amusing to see people freaking out about their precious M and MA rated fics being deleted. The site staff should have done this sooner. The site will be a better place after this. I don't read those types of stories by default. I stick to the normal ones.

Site staff deleting M and MA rated ficsJune 1st, 7:04
The site staff is really on a roll with the deletion of all those stories. I'm a little shocked that they have just now gotten around to doing this, but it is very good for the site. While everybody else whines about their precious fics being deleted, I am perfectly content to sit back and let it happen. It is quite amusing to read their comments and see them freaking out.

Fanfiction.net deleting M rated stories.May 29th, 19:53
Yee-haw! Faniction.net is on a roll and finally deleting the M-rated stories, which has resulted in a bunch of angry users, but I am happy it is finally being done. The site is polluted with those types of stories. I am a little shocked that they just started doing it now, but they clearly operate on their own timetable. There won't be a single M rated story left standing by the time they finish, and they will leave a lot of angry so called authors in their wake. Maybe those ousted authors can migrate to Archive Of Our Own so they don't bother us with their stories.

So instead of just skipping stories they don' t like, fanficcleanup is coming to the rescue of delicate flowers everywhere so that they don't have to exposed to stories that 'aren't normal.'  Nice.

Yep, I have screenshots, just in case.
