Week 18: Lazy Icons - Submit
The lazy days of summer are upon us--so let's do something simple. I think it'll still be a challenge. ;)
Challenge: Lazy Icons
This week we're going no-frills, all the way. These icons should be fairly quick to make, because you won't have to mess around with text, brushes, textures, or any kind of decoration--but at the same time, you're going to have to make the picture count. Consider it a technical challenge. ;)
This week, it's *all* about the crop.
What do I mean by "lazy icons"?
--No brushes, textures, text, color fill layers, gradients, or light textures may be used.
--No double images (where the same picture appears more than once on the icon).
--No photoshopping something that wasn't in the original image onto the icon.
--No blending two images together.
So what *can* you do?
--You can use image adjustments/adustment layers like levels, curves, hue/saturation, brightness/contrast, color balance, etc.
Note that I'm using Photoshop terminology. I've never used PSP, so I'm not sure if the terms match up--but feel free to ask if you're confused; I'm sure together we can figure it out. ;)
--You can also use blend modes (screen, soft light, etc.), and filters like blur or sharpen.
--You're welcome to make your icon 100% black and white, but no partial b&w/partial color please.
--A simple border is fine, but nothing more ornate than a plain line. No dotted borders, but I will let you get away with a double border (white w/gray, for example).

Rules:
--Each member may submit up to 2 icons. But if you decide to make 2, please don't use the same style for both. Experiment a little!
--Icons must conform to livejournal standards: 100x100px & 40KB or less, in .gif, .jpg, or .png format.
--Icons must be made new for the challenge.
--Don't use or showcase your entry icon(s) until the winners have been announced.
--Fanart and doujinshi can be used, but if the artist does not want his/her work modified, please don't use it.
Icons are due by Thursday, July 27th at 9pm EST.
Submissions should be left in a comment to this post. (All comments will be screened.)
