Something Organizational Post
She went after River. Wasn't logical, her fear for River. River could handle herself. But the Cap'n expected River an her to be together.
River!, she thought urgently. Where did you go?
Suddenly an arm snaked about her waist and a hand covered her mouth. She stiffened, panic rising in her chest.
"What happened to the plan?"
Relief flooded through her veins. As quickly as the fear had come, it had gone and she relaxed. The hand on her mouth dropped away.
"Oh, Cap'n!. Well River ran off after Simon. I finished with the cameras and figured we'd best stay together and..."
"Stay behind me. Let's see what them three are up to." Not waiting for a reaction, Mal grabbed her hand and guided her through the silent hallway.
As they turned the corner, they could see River scanning the room. Simon was kneeling on the floor beside Inara. He looked up, the concern on his face was vivid. Inara wasn't moving much and there was blood.
"She's fine. Got surprised. No more surprises now."
