It's time for us to wrap up our first slash fic, "Leavings." Now that we're up to 24 chapters, we're going to give it another 3-4 (depending on interest) to tie everything together. SO, if you've been itching to jump into that story, here's your last chance ( Read more... )

Wow, you really think we can wrap up the plot in 3-4 chapters? Inara's off on her own for some reason, and Mr. Tam is waiting for the crew at it's next drop. That's a lot to wrap up!

Or have people lost interest now that there's plot? That would be so sad, because there's some potential for good story-telling there. Unfortunately, it's not the kind of story-telling I'm any good at or I'd claim next chapter. Get me a bit more to work with, though, and I'm there!

well, people have been extraordinarily slow to claim chapters... but we feel that with three more 1000 word chapters and an end chapter of 2000 words, that it can be wrapped up. Frankly it's been almost four weeks and that's as long as we ever intended to have one of the normal stories run. I hope you'll stick around and write for other ships! Now, if we can only get four people to claim on this poll, we'll be doing good. :)

This is just a suggestion as it has always been the plan at rayne_fanon...

Once a fic is completed then it would be sent to an impartial BETA who did not write in the fic. Spelling, grammar, continuity, etc. would be checked and then compiled into one ginormous post. Each chapter would be separated by a line (or some other division) and a list provided at the end to tell the reader who wrote what. Then, in the "Author" section, each lj member would be listed as the writer.

Oh, sweetie. You didn't kill the slash. It's just time for it to end. It gets a little unwieldy when it gets to be too many chapters, making it difficult for anyone new to jump in because it's a lot to catch up on. Besides, we've always known fics wouldn't run longer than four weeks or so, just for some variety.

Chapter "enders" will be chosen randomly. I have the utmost confidence that the story can be completed in 4 chapters... especially with the wonderful writers we have. =D
