This is really nice. :) Totally how their relationship should go down: Jecht being all surprisingly!wise (you know...he really has a point!) and Auron being all stick!up!ass (oh come on you dweeb, lighten UP!).

Some lovely images, watertight characterization and hot damn do I love that just-about-to-be-resolved UST. Bravo. :D

Eee thank you! I'm really glad that Auron and Jecht aren't too OOC - I had a hard time figuring out their voices. And I had a hard time with the pacing of their flirting. For some reason, this story just kicked my ass.

I was really hoping for some Jecht/Auron in this challenge, and yessss, you delivered! This is really enjoyable; you've got the character's voices down, and the way they contrast is just so much fun. I love Jecht nudging Auron with his foot; that's just one of those little things he would do. And Auron and his meditative breathing! :)

Nice job!

Thanks! I'm a huge fan of Auron/Jecht - they're such fun and funny characters with damn interesting back stories. And yay! I'm glad they're not wildly out of character. I was worried that Jecht came off too weird and Auron too whiny.

I AM SO UNBELIEVABLY SORRY IT TOOK ME THIS LONG TO COMMENT ON THIS. SO SORRY. I can't believe it took me this long, because this fic is WONDERFUL! Jecht being forthright and pushy and determined and surprisingly intuitive about the whole thing and poking Auron with his foot, and not letting Auron hide behind his stock answers and his stoicism and what indoctrination he keeps with him! Auron trying to be a good guardian and suitably restrained and trying really hard not to oggle Jecht and - and I love how you have them interact, because I can see this as how it would have happened! The interactions are perfect, the dialogue is wonderful, and I am all in favour of young!Auron being forced to face himself.

Thank you SO MUCH for writing this for me, it's wonderful and I love it!
