hy people are more upset over his gaydom than Aberforth's love for goats is beyond me though. My issue is not the fact that "he is gay" but more with JK's love of sensationalism with all these "facts" she's been throwing out since book 7 was published. She doesn't seem to be able to keep her facts straight, either. It just seems to me that something like that is a hot topic she seems okay to just throw out on a whim, concerning a beloved character and from a writer's pov, it's completely unnecessary. It reflects poorly on her as a writer on a professional level when industry advocates for the books have been trying so hard these years to try to convince the literary world that the HP series is actual literature and not just pop fiction. Heck, though, she has more money than she could possibly know what to do with, so the impression I get is she just simply doesn't care. Well that's all just fine and good, but that just seems to be a poor way to treat something that has clearly grown far beyond just a single mother trying to ( ... )

I agree with you completely in some ways. Rowling's random and sudden facts give-a-way seems more like her saying 'aww, what the hell? Why not!' to me than anything else. And I appreciate the facts she gives out now, but that's mostly because I have a skewered perception of the series. Namely....I seperate into fandom, canon, and that could totally be both and sometimes they meld. If I was more attached to the actual canon, my reaction would probably be a lot more like yours.

Sadly though....I don't think JKR is author of great literature. Her writing style and grasp of plot is fairly amateur to me and while I love her characters and world, I find most fanfiction is better written than her own work. My relationship with HP is confusing lol

But yeah. I always considered Dumbly to be asexual (when I considered him at all. I never liked the man). So I understand your reasoning. But some of the comments I read were based mostly on homophobia and that's what struck me as odd =)

Link screams when I make him jump off cliffs...

And what episode is the LMAO Supernatural icon from? We saw the first two episode and the one with the children was so good! So funny and SCARY (OMG children). John and I watched it in my dark room with two other people and we all screamed when the mom fixed her rear view mirror.

Oh god backseat fear INCREASING.

Firstly, it is fun mean to make him jump off cliffs. Second, Link makes noises. He never actually speaks =P

LMAO is from the Season 2 bloopers rail. Good stuff. I have it on DVD if you want. And duuuuude....changeling ep was AWESOME. I love Ben so much. He's the only child I like. I ended up hoping he was Dean's son by the end.

Hmm. I had no idea that JKR was rolling out random facts after the book. I'm not a die-hard HP fan, which is probably why I'm in the dark, but I'm still curious. I totally agree with the idea that doing such a thing draws attention to JK's naivete as a writer. Maybe even the fact that she doesn't care? No idea. But do you think you could direct me to a source or something, where I can learn what's been going on? Maybe catch an interview on the ol' net? Because that'd be awesome. Now I want to know all about gay Dumbly. XD

random but: omg death note is on adult swim. when did that happen?

But yes! There's been...two major articles with revelations. And while some of the facts are understandable, simple things that couldn't fit in the book....wtf, Rowling with other things. I think she IS a naive writer.

It happened... recently. Saturday night they were airing episode 2 I think. I'm not a fan of the dub. I think the acting is fine, but Brad Swaile as Light... the man's got talent and I love him, but he irks me while doing Light's role. Let's not get into that.

Yayy, thanks for that link. *ambles off to check it out*

I must ageee. I love Brad Swaile but....ack. He's not Light at ALL. I don't think he'll handle th transition from ickleLight to zomgimgoLight well.

I don't know why Dumbledore's gayness upsets people so. I mean, it was pretty blatant in Book 7 after all. And it wasn't that much of a huge plot point anyway.

I thought it was blatant too, but again....fangirlness is a componant to most of my thoughts so I didn't think too much of it. If anything, though, it kind of explains a lot even if it's not a major point.
