Do you mean what year, or what spot in the point of Gojyo's life? If the latter, then he left right after Dokugakuji (my brain has failed me as to his name before he met Kougaiji) killed their mother whilst she was attempting to kill Gojyo dear.

I think we don't know when their father left. We never actually see him, if I remember well. I don't know if Gojyo even knows his father. And then Jien says he used to sleep with his mother, so his father must have been gone for a while.
