*Yeats envy* Unfortunately my trip to Ireland didn't include that ares *sighs* I almost bought the Innisfree perfume, though :D
Midnight's Children is... about many things O_o it's magical realism at its best. It's about the history of independent India, in a way, with the supernatural mixed in it; a history of a families. The plot's very rich and twisted and the language is great, and I have a hard time describing something that's pure art *g* It was one of the few books in my LIt classes I liked so much that I had to own them *g* Now I think I must buy a copy of the Satanic Verses because the excerpts the Lit guy gave us are not enough for me ^_^;
Oooh...sounds neat. I have this deep love of books about/set in India. It's the Bollywood fan in me. I'll have to look into that and add it to my list. Which is growing alarminly long. Not that I MIND or anything...

Yeats owns, man. I visited his grave when I was in Ireland, which gave me the urge to light a cigar and jote down lines on yellowed paper.
What's Midnight's Children about?
