(Happy birthday agaiiiiin)

very well.

[YAY QUICKLOG. it didn't take long for Dyad to find the Butchers- he had brought Veda, as Zombie had suggested, the small froofy dog on the end of its leash, eager to sniff about as he opened the door and stepped in. Sure, everything about this 'date' had given him a bad feeling, especially with Zombie's bizarre comments.. but he trusted in his own abilities.]

Hello?

[He gave everyone a proper lunch break for once, so it was just the two of them. Dog was sleeping, but once she heard and smelled the new company, her ears perked up, looking at them. Dog barked once, telling Zombie someone was here.

Zombie came from the back, his apron had some blood on it, but at least he wasn't holding some huge cleaver to freak Dyad out more. He hung the apron and walked around to greet Dyad.]

Good, you're on time.

[He nodded, forcing a small smile.] I didn't have mush else to do. How are you?

[He crouched down to let Veda off his leash, quietly cautioning him to behave-- though the dog simply responded by wagging its tail and yapping in Dog's direction.]

I'm sorry it took so long to meet.

[He could tell Dyad felt uncomfortable, but he didn't blame the guy.] I'm fine, and you don't need to smile like that. I don't need polite smiles.

[Dog seemed to be a lot less awkward than her master, walking towards Veda to smell him.]

I wasn't sure what to do. I'm not used to this meeting up thing much. [He finally had the chance to give Dyad a good luck. His eyes narrowed, his face tensing and relaxing at various times. The whole time he looked serious, stern even.] This isn't a date. I don't like dates.

[He frowned, looking down. Zombie was quite blunt, wasn't he.] Alright, then, if you'd rather. [This was all very peculiar-- just the way that he acted. It wasn't particularly offensive, of course, it just made him unsure of how to respond.

veda also seemed more at ease, tail wagging hippily as he bounced about her.]

It's probably better if it isn't a date. And I'm not adverse to meeting new people. [The being stared at was uncomfortable, but Zombie didn't seem to be the most sociable of people.] I don't see you write on the journals much.

[Dog nuzzled Veda with her snout affectionately. She had missed him, and her master had been keeping him away from Veda and his master. Dog looks at Dyad before going back to Veda.]

I just don't need fake, polite bullshit. No offense. {And he didn't mean any ill intentions. He just didn't like that...Dyad was doing this. Better than the whole sympathy and pity thing, but at the same time grating.]

I don't write on the journals because it's for talking to people. I only do it when I want something or need to get a message out. [He's defensive himself, just because Dyad had no memories and all that.] Not everyone in the Sphere has to know what I think.

[Dog yapped happily, bouncing about Dog and licking what he could reach. Happy, happy dog~]

It's quite alright. I promise you that my being polite isn't 'fake', though. [He wasn't sure how to act to avoid upsetting Zombie.] I suppose it's just a habit of mine.

[He glanced about the Bucther shop as Zombie spoke, if only to orient himself. He had been here before, but not particularly often.] I suppose not. I don't utilize the journals as much as I should either. It's... rather bizarre, sharing our thougths on such a public network.

[Dog nuzzled one of Dyad's leg. Maybe she could sense the tension between them.]

I know it's a habit of yours. You like to please people too much, make sure they're fine. [He wasn't condemning the action, per say, but he just didn't like it when it applied to him.]

People should mind their own business. [Yet he was about to be a hypocrite in about 2.5 seconds.] You sleeping well? [He tried to remember what Raise once told him the first few times they talked.] Don't lie.

[He glanced down at Dog and smiles, crouching slightly and offering a hand for her to sniff.]

...Not always. I am occasionally concerned for others, though. [He would assume Zombie read up on the journals. It was easier that way. He stood back up after scratching Dog behind the ears and patting Veda, who whined for attention.]

Still, it's good for communication, and people can choose not to respond if they don't want to. [He blinked at the sudden shift of conversation, head tilting.] ...Sleeping? [Again, creepy, but he would assume Zombie meant the best. He shook his head.]

It... took me a while to be comfortable here. I've gotten better, but it's still rare to stay asleep all through the night. Why?

[Dog seems receptive of the affection, but she keeps calm. She licks his hand. At Veda whining, she nudges him with her snout.]

Just don't do it for me, and we'll be fine. [He put his hands in his pockets.]

They're a lot of idiots on it, and that gossip crap. [Maybe he was too sudden, but there wasn't really a subtle way of asking "is that voice in your head still there?"] Hear weird sounds no one else hears? [Yes, he's probably sounding like a paranoid nutjob, but it'd get the job done. He's also going to avoid that question.]

I suppose. Still, it's better than not having any form of communication aside from speaking to one another-- and it's rather efficient, when it comes to alerting everyone of something.

[He grows quiet at the question. Weird sounds no one else did? No. he shook his head.] No. I haven't. Might I ask why? [The question was bizarre, if nothing else... it sounded... not right, but thinking about it was nostalgic, in some way.] At least, if I have, it hasn't been brought up.

That's the good part. I don't like speaking to people. [Though, it distracted some of his employees. It was easier to say the Butcher's was closed, and he mostly used it for job stuff these days.]

[His eyes narrow. He doesn't think Dyad is lying to him, but maybe it was too soon for Praise to emerge again.] Wake up in place, but can't remember how you got there? [This was the last question before it got too obvious.] Stuff is weird here. [He flinches suddenly, but his face goes back to being composed quickly.]

You don't like speaking to anyone? I can't say I envy you there. [While Dyad wasn't the best conversationalist, he at least enjoyed the presence of others-- he could hardly stand silence, after all.]

[He glances away. Something about that... Dyad shakes his head.] No. No, I haven't. [It's not a lie, but the question... it bothered him.] Though I've had plenty of people insinuating that I'm someone I cannot remember being, I can assure you that wasn't myself as I am now.

I'm not good with words. [Which is the honest truth, and he mutters the words. He wouldn't tell anyone but "Raise", Eyepatch, and Mute such a thing.] I mess things up.

You're not him. You don't have the scar, and your hair is different. Your posture is off, your body is leaner, and your facial bones are different. [Well, this probably put him on the freak list, but whatever.] If you don't have his memories, you aren't him. [He got what he wanted, so he didn't see the point of keeping Dyad here.] You can go.

[Dog's tail sinks, and she looks at Zombie. He gives her a look, and Dog turns her attention back to Veda and Dyad to say goodbye. After, she goes to sit beside her master.]

It's alright. I'm not the best either.

[He stopped as Zombie ran off an assessment of differences, brows creasing in thought. It disturbed him that Zombie could quickly list off so many things comparing him and Raise-- but at the same time, there was a sort of freedom in it. A sort of relief and liberation in knowing that he was not the person that everyone seemed to think he was.]

I take it you were close. I'm sorry. If it's any consolation... there was a man in my dream who looked very much like me. Perhaps it was a relation of some sort that was here previously.

[He crouched and gave a quiet whistle to get Veda over, the white fluffball whimpering and nudging Dog one more time before approaching to have the leash put on.] Thank you, Zombie. I appreciate this conversation. Feel free to contact me should you need me.

He was annoying sometimes, but we had an understanding. It doesn't matter now. [He tries not to show he's interested in the dream, but he won't push it. The past was still there, but it was easier to lie.] Dreams are stupid and made up anyway. [He recently told Lost this, and saying it again...it should have helped reassure him, but it didn't.]

I'm fine on my own. [He turned away, walking to get his apron again. Dog follows him, but she's watching Dyad.]
