Martha really was not seeing enough of Chloe these days. Both women had been busy with their respective jobs, but now that the campaign had ended, Martha was feeling Chloe's absence in her life more than ever. Chloe simply accepted the fact she was going to need to exchange her new clothes for a size bigger after her birthday dinner. There was no way she was the same size leaving the Kent's house as she was when she arrived but she had to admit it was worth every single bite.

Even better than the dinner was the feeling of being with three of her favorite people in the world. After dinner she followed Martha into the living room.

She took the Chardonnay and settled on the sofa. "The bracelet is my favorite thing to wear and the coffee is my favorite to drink?" She offered with a huge grin. "The bracelet is beautiful."

Martha chuckles, lifting her feet off the floor and bringing her knees to her chest as she sips from her glass. "A very diplomatic answer, Miss Sullivan, very diplomatic indeed," she says. "And I'm thrilled you like the bracelet. Jonathan and I agonized over it for quite awhile. And when I say Jonathan and I, I mean...I agonized over it for quite awhile as Jonathan read the paper."

"I thought I'd give diplomacy a try. Besides, I can't be asked to choose a favorite. One's sparkly and the other's caffeinated!"

She tucks one leg under herself and settles back. "Whew, for a minute I had a vision of Jonathan agonizing over jewelry and I swear I could hear the universe coming unglued!"

"Yes, I suppose I should be grateful, shouldn't I? Unless of course it's me he's jewelry shopping for," she says. "So, birthday girl, how was breakfast with Dad?"
