Don't know if you heard but the senate shot down the ammendment with a 49-47 vote, meaning that it is gone for good.

oh, these things are never gone for good. They're like zombies, and this issue will rise from the grave to try to eat our brains yet again in some nameless future.

I am awfully glad they didn't manage to pass this. I only regret not being more active in contacting officials with calls and letters to give them my two cents worth on the issue.
