As you probably know, I have a problem with organized religion. It makes people stupid. My opinion was confirmed today when I read this story:

What if she wants to thank the God she believes in for giving her the strength to stay alive during all that happened to her? Or just to say how glad she is to be alive?
If you set a house on fire, ran in and saved the 20 children, you'd be an arsonist.
If I were one of the children, I'd thank God I was alive....
The nice thing about Christianity is that it teaches (or should) that all us small people are really big and important - and that no matter how big and important we are, we are still really small people.
Organized religion doesn't make people stupid. Genetics does this. The hatred and fear often generated by organized religions helps fan this stupidity - but religion isn't the only source of anger and fear, is it?
