It was still very early, and Milena had just finished her morning walk. Currently, she was in the courtyard, enjoying the scenery, and waiting for other people to be up and aound

a little way off, she noticed the people standing in line to petition the King. They were numerous, and only a select few would get through

"Yes... very exciting." spoke Milena, rather politely, as she made note of the drunken man. It seemed as though it would be an interesting court week. "I rather enjoy court week."

"Oh yes, me too," Carolyn exclaimed, "We don't have this kind of excitement out on the frontier. There it's all work and drudgery. Oh, look! They're letting people in. Shall we go inside?"

Indeed, the gates to the main hall were opening, and nobles and servants were flocking inside. The opening of the hall had come late, and there had been some grumbling in the crowd, but now all of that impatience was lifted, and the crowd moved forward to secure positions with a good view of the action before the first petitioners were admitted.
