I was so very lucky to rescue a ferret named Zeus 8 years ago. Zeus was abused by his owners. He was kicked, thrown in the air, chased by chickens, and stepped on by a Saint Bernard. I am so sorry for your loss. I had to put my baby down today too. I hope you can find solace in the fact that you gave him such a happy life <3.

I'm very sorry for your loss. It is never easy to lose a furkid, especially such a special one. In time, the pain will lessen, but you will never forget him. Many times, just crying and/or talking helps. At least realize that we on this forum will never berate you for having such love for "just a ferret."

I'm so sorry for your loss. I wish I knew how to deal with it. I have loved many animals but none like I have loved my ferrets. I was just away for the day yesterday and missed them terribly. I don't know what I'll do when one of them passes. ((HUGS))

I don't know about anyone else, but I get through losses, not over them.

One thing that helps is being committed to saving another pet - yes, you are opening yourself up to more pain in the long run, but the love that's to be gained makes it all worthwhile.
