Consider adoption...

If you're in the Chicago, IL area, please consider adopting a(nother) ferret. A friend hooked me up with this link to a shelter in Chicago that has some wonderful fuzzies. He adopted five. He says the ones he met were so sweet-tempered he'd have gladly taken more, but he knows his limits. I'd love to adopt a couple of these, but I'm too far away.

When I lived in Chicago, all of my ferrets came from there and I helped foster a few with medical problems. Great place-I hope local people can help.

Glad to have some extra validation on this.

And yes, I really hope some local people step up to help.

The GCFA is to "blame" for all five of my fuzzy disaster-makers. :) They just moved into a new location and they have, at any give time, anywhere from 75 to 150 ferrets! So yeah, if you're in the area and looking to increase your fuzzie quotient, please check them out. They've got something for everyone. :)

(Kári, one of said GCFA rescues just stuck his nose up against the computer. Apparently he approves of us talking about his former home. :)

I've volunteered there for almost 25 years. All but three of my fuzzbutts were adopted from there over the years.

If you can't afford to adopt, please consider fostering an older ferret. You give an older, unadoptable ferret a home and the club pays the medical expenses, including meds. It's a way of freeing up the cages for other ferrets needing rescued while giving these lovable older fuzzies a real home.
