Lily is growing like a darn weed....she let me hold onto her for about 15 minutes before church this morning before she got antsy and wanted Mamma.

I have heard a lot of people having the fear that if the baby isn't baptized and it dies that the babe will go to hell (or purgatory if you are Catholic) because it's original sin hasn't been washed away from baptism.

I know the pressure will be put on James and I to baptize for that reason even though my family doesn't attend church on a regular basis.

I think it still is a parent's choice and I can't fault anybody! We each have our own *beliefs* and none of them are wrong, just different...but in Lisa's case, she doesn't know who the father is and I think she's doing this because of family pressure and is that right?

I was really pressured to baptize Audrey, but in my opinion you should be old enough to know what it is about. And my God would never send a baby to hell.

I totally understand that opinion too Amy...in some churches, the have a special *blessing of the child* service and when the child understands what baptism means, then they choose to be baptised. I was *baptised* as a baby by my Uncle Nathan who is/was a minister for my mother's denomination and then again when I was 11 in the Lutheran church. (I guess my father didn't believe in the first one)

I actually Baptized Bailey myself. In the kitchen sink (lol). It was a moment we shared together with God.

Ah...that's a very special and unique way of baptism....Kelsie was baptised in one of our city parks (with a non-denominational minister) ~ who knows, maybe he got his accredidations through the internet...but yep, going to church is more for ME...but we have a great church and it's never boring. I was raised Lutheran, but now go to a very liberal church.

Kramer's family is that way. They go for the sacrements, but nothing much else. Well a few of them baptism, marriage, and death.

They have made me re consider religion, which is sad, but I am more of a pantheist than anything.
