I'm not sure how anyone could be surprised by this, especially with the antagonistic language on the sign... it would be comparable to someone putting up a sign that said "atheists are stone cold robotic automatons"
Did I ever once say that I was surprised? Offended, yes. Annoyed, yes. Angry, yes... but not surprised. It is an attack on the composition of the beliefs, not on the people themselves... whereas that message that is spread by Christianity is much darker thing indeed. They are basically saying, you should be so ashamed of yourself for something that you did not do that you had better spend your entire life atoning for that fundamental flaw or your are going to burn in a pit of fire for all eternity... that kind of rhetoric is ten times as offensive as anything in that sign that was stolen. That's what makes me mad about it all.
