My Thoughts On Star Trek

Jul 24, 2009 14:44

The night before last, I had an exciting and awesome experience when I met up with several internet people: ms_treesap (the only one I really knew prior to the meeting), rhaegal (with whom I have several weird things in common with: e.g. she works in my building and went to school at the top of the road where I grew up, and we'd never met before :O ) and rionaleonhart (who ( Read more... )

lol, Amok Time. I mean WHAT.

Also, you said "expunge". That's what has me giggling about this post the most. It's just a funny word. Expunge. Expunge. EXPUNGE.

I might be a little bit in love with you for this. Which, on top of the fact that I stalked you from the other side of the country, makes me much scarier than a 45 year-old called Clive...

Yes, yes it does. :D Well, maybe. Have you got a van? I'm only going to really be worried if you've got a van.

Are you suggesting my Ford Escort with the squealy fanbelt is not equally intimidating? o.O

Depends if you've put me in the back. I reckon I could escape from the front without much trouble...

Your icon and entire post are hilarious. Please review more Star Trek episodes!

OMG wait till you get to the Deep Space Nine series: it is amazing overall and also has its share of really bad episodes that are a lot of fun to laugh at. And it has my favourite slash pairing - if the show had been made just ten years later, I'm positive that those two would have become canon, there was so much chemistry between them.

Thank you also for the link to 'Deviant Desires', I will investigate this publication ASAP.

sory to butt in, but who's the slash pairing your thinking of? Is it Odo/Quark, cos that's the one I always saw - but I may be seeing things differently...

OMG your icon is too awesome for words!

No need to apologise at all :) The pairing I was talking about is Garak/Bashir. Andrew Robinson played Garak as bisexual and was in fact asked to tone his performance down because he was supposedly coming on too strong on Bashir. But one of the writers (I think it was Robert Wolfe?) agreed with the G/B subtext and gave Robinson some slashy material to work with.

I wholeheartedly approve of Odo/Quark, by the way.

Hah, that's amazing. I think that that relationship was so obvious that I didn't even think about it...

That's why DS9 was so awesome I suppose.

Does this mean that you'll watch The movies with me next time they're on and not just shout from the other side of the room that it's all really stupid? y/y. (And anyway - I'm sure you were there when I watched WoK recently, because you were acting astounded at the end when Spock and Kirk touch hands through the radiation shield).

Also, Uhura = win. I'm not going to make the various crude gags about balls either.

Hey, I never actually shouted. I more... snickered? And I have no memory of this radiation shield incident (although it sounds intriguing...) x
