Matt Smith joins Orbital on stage at Glastonbury to perform the Doctor Who theme. This is just lovely and brilliant (and totally rocks). I couldn't stop grinning as I watched this.

Speaking of Doctor Who, here are some thoughts on the final episode and the season as a whole... ( cut for spoilers. )

Holy fuck that video is amazing.

I agree with pretty much everything you said except I like Rory a lot more than you seem to. Matt Smith is completely brilliant, and although there were a few episodes I didn't like, the awesome characters made up for it. I don't think there was a single character I didn't like. I'm less than impressed with the River/Doctor hints we keep getting, but otherwise River is awesome.

I know exactly what you mean by being made cynical by the HP fandom. I just can't support any complex theories without fear of huge disappointment.

Even though I watch the episodes every week, I'm not really into Doctor Who fandom, so I hadn't heard of the jacket!Doctor theory although I think it's awesome that it was apparently googled so often that it's now a suggested search term!

Oh no, don't get me wrong - I really like Rory too! I just don't love him quite as much as I love Amy or Eleven. But I love him a lot. Actually I really like the dynamic the three of them have together. I hope that they both wind up travelling in the Tardis next season, that would be lovely. ♥

I was about to say "I'm not really in Doctor Who fandom either", except that it's just hit me that I sort of am. Well, what do you know. I've been looking for a new fandom, so that's nice. :P

I have decided that Matt and Eleven is My Doctor <3 I want to see him and Donna pair up, just once! But yes, this whole season was emotional and fun but very different from RTD. It's possible to be silly and a bit dark without careening between two extremes and I think Moffat did an excellent job of balancing :)

Eleven is my Doctor too. :) Odd because I have been watching since Nine but Eleven is the first one I've felt a real, proper undying affection for. He's just lovely. The mad professor. ♥

I FUCKING KNOW RIGHT. I was getting so worried towards the end of the episode when he hadn't shown up, and then there he was! I was grinning like a loon. It was a lovely moment. :D

that's just how she is - she'll always joke about those things with the doctor [and who wouldn't, he's the doctor!] but deep down she loves rory.

MTE. That's one of the things I like so much about her actually - she's proof that it's possible to be outrageously flirty, and enjoy kissing people you care about, and still have someone you love. I really appreciate that sort of outlook being represented sympathetically. ♥ In any case, Rory doesn't seem to mind too much (Rory Pond! Oh, god, that made me so happy).
