Boy howdy I've been getting a lot of comment spam here of late

A surprising amount in fact. I guess I'm spoiled because my regular blog has Akismet and that seems to work just peachy for smacking down spammers.

Anyone have any suggestions for cutting back on the comment spam?

lock down the account options... no anon, log ip, and perhaps other new features i haven't seen yet?

I agree with perspicuity. I have two accounts here, and of the two this one is practically invisible to anyone who is not friended to me. There are a few public posts but most of them are rather old. Fortunately the spammers are not spamming the old entries, or I'd have to lock them down.

As for my more public account, I may have to start setting "comment screening for non-friends". With screening a spammer is less likely to post a comment knowing that you are the only one who will see it.
