It started last Sunday, the Cubs got their asses handed to them, after a horrible stretch of games. It also led to my demise in Fantasy Baseball, but of course the Bears ( Read more... )

I'm like you, and I believe that with the real stuff like that, you have to do what you can to control it. You can control your own debt to a point, but the economy, war, and illness are often so out of our realm. All you can really do is vote, and maybe buy a malaria mosquito net for those kids in Africa, and hope for the best.

The way I see it, there's only two places you can take things you don't control. You can leave it up to God, or you can channel it into something else. I honestly think sports teams, even though they can often be a source of frustration, have been a good channel for me. Not only that, but they create community identity, and that never hurts anything.

Tomorrow the Cubs will converge on Nationals Park. It’ll be our first trip back to the National League Division Series again-as we did last year. Accomplishing a victory will be our first trip to accomplishing a World Series for the 2nd year straight.
I can’t wait!
This weekend will be so great.
The Cubs are on the way to a celebration day. I’d ❤ to see that happening yet again. That would most definitely make me want to update my Cubs gear with updated shirts for this year’s championship victories. Ultimately, I know my bestie feels the very same way about our beloved baseball team.
