I went down to Massachusetts this past weekend to see my friend who has Lou Gehrig's Disease.  He and his family were raising money to get his grandmother and himself out to Las Vegas where his mother and sister live.  They raised the money necessary faster than anticipated, and he is leaving by plane tomorrow.  What this meant was, regardless of ( Read more... )

Holding a seventy pound dog on his back in a choke hold while all four paws are up in the air so a vet can do an ultrasound is rather tricky.
The good news is, she found absolutely nothing physically wrong with him.
The current guess is one of two parasites, or a weird allergy.
More tests and drugs, coming up.

Do not throw out your list of books read last year until AFTER you have at least transcribed the list onto some digital format.  The reviews can come later.  Now you are stuck trying to remember the books you read before you can even do reviews, short as they may be.  At least you remembered the number of books; that is something at least.

I was not surprised to learn that the blood tests came back indicating that he has something going on with his gastrointestinal tract.  We have an appointment at the end of the month to have an ultrasound done, to see if that shows anything.  Apparently this is going to give us more information than a standard x-ray would, so that is all well and ( Read more... )

Today stayed in the forties all day with sun, so it was the complete opposite of yesterday.  I was able to take the dog for two comparatively lengthy walks today for the first time in I do not know how many weeks.  Tomorrow we have to bring him to the vet, because no matter what we feed him, or how much, he is still experiencing either vomiting or ( Read more... )
