Wow. I never realized how influential he was, or that PBS was ever considered so important in Congress.

Well, anything with government funding can come under scrutiny, and I think it was more the fact that it was a new program taking money that some people wanted for Vietnam than that Congress was ever really focusing on the importance of public television. And YAY MR. ROGERS. PBS is so awesome, and I love him for being so persuasive. And for doing so much good.
