I finished "Playing Patience" in early January 2011 and have been meaning to write the final part of the trilogy ever since, but couldn't get inspired to do it till this past week. I'm very glad you liked it!

thank you very much - the original fic I could not make work was supposed to have a dark!Lestrade but I just couldn't get him to go through with it... *grins* I'm very glad you liked this, and that the ending worked for you.

Apologies for not reading and reviewing sooner! I wanted to reread Busted Flush and Playing Patience. I managed that yesterday, but ran out of time to finish reading this. Anywaaaaaaay, this story is seriously HOT! Once again, it's wonderful to see Lestrade being in control and calling the shots, especially where Sherlock is concerned. And Sherlock's desperation is pretty hilarious, especially when he starts getting funny looks from John. Of course, the best thing of all is that Lestrade is conducting another drugs bust (that scene being one of my favourite Lestrade scenes of all time from Sherlock), but it's the kind of drugs bust he has to conduct alone. *g*

The dialogue in this fic is wonderful -- as are the many touches of humour. I absolutely love Lestrade's response (Not tonight, Josephine. GL.) to Sherlock's text invitation. I also got a kick out of this exchange:

“Christ, you're making a mess of that,” Lestrade says in a tone of weary disgust. “Can't even get undressed by yourself. Did your fag squeeze your toothpaste for ( ... )

Lestrade in the drugs bust scene is one of my favourite things, so I very much wanted to write this - I'm pleased to have managed it at last, and very glad you enjoyed the results!
