This is adorable. I did think, just at the moment they all three get into the boat, 'if only they had a dog' and then there it was. :D I also like the welcome change of having someone who knew Sherlock at uni still be a bit fond of him, despite what Sebastian said.

thank you very much! I couldn't see how else to get the dog into the fic, and obviously there had to be one...

I think Sebastian is not a reliable source about Sherlock's university years! Orlando was inspired by kalypso_v's suggestions about Sherlock's non-punting habits.

Just had a chance to read this. Love it! The little mystery, and John's expression of 'That'll teach you to flaunt your ex-boyfriends at me,' made me laugh, and the image of Sherlock being all awkward was just delicious. Brilliant!
