Title: Knitting Needles

Rating: PG-13.
Summary: During an AU School Hard, Anne waits for her son to return from Sunnydale High's Parent-Teacher Night.
Notes: This is a sorta sequel to Apron Strings. I plan on writing more of these stand-alone ficlets when I get the time, but I'm not totally sure if it will turn into a series or not.

Hmm, you know, I thought that with Anne around, Drusilla would be touch more loyal since, while his affections for her are strong, they are not as devoted or unconditional as those he has for his mother. Having to fight for William's time would probably make her less flighty (at least in comparison to cannon Dru who takes Spike's love for granted).

At least that's what I thought when I read Apron Strings.

You know, I think the real reason Spike didn't kill Buffy in School Hard and latter episodes had nothing to do with retreating or Buffy's amateurish skills (in comparison to him) but rather because Joyce pulled a mama bear. I mean, he'd beaten the crap out of Buffy until Joyce intervened and it would have been easy for Spike to have taken Joyce hostage for the easier kill or killed Joyce and then finish Buffy off (the latter more possible since he's a sporting sort when it comes to killing Slayers). I think that Joyce reminded him of his mom and he couldn't bring himself to do something that would hurt her (and killing her ( ... )
