You summed up my thoughts perfectly. Also, it didn't showcase Hawaii with the same care and inspiration that Magnum PI or the original series did. So there.
I'll give it a watch next week to see if it hooks me. So far not really.
I'm still processing how I feel about it. It wasn't particularly pretty; I guess I expected something more colourful (I think I might have watched Lilo & Stitch one too many times) and, as you said, showcasing Hawaii, but it was all sorta meh punchy-fighty-stabby-shooty. This show may fall into the category of "Show I Watch Just for the Preview of the Next Episode to See if James Marsters is Going to be in It." Sigh. At least Caprica is only a few more weeks away! XD
Also, his ringtone for his ex-wife is the e-e-e-e-e! from Psycho.
Haha, yeah that was awesome right there.
They did squeeze a lot into this ep. But it's the set up for the whole show, so I'll let it pass this time. ;) I'm thinking that Victor will remain a one dimensional bad guy who shows up from time to time. So I'll just enjoy it for being a pretty damn awesome remake of a show I loved years ago. Yay.
Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed at all. Guess I was hoping for a bit of the old 5-OH. Don't know if I'll watch it again, especially if James is going to have 5 minutes on screen each time his storyline pops up.
I'm not sure how I felt about it. I think I'm still processing. I know I'm really dissapointed in the lack of James in it. He really is such a good actor, so versatile, yet he seems to be glossed over so often, his abilities could be used far more that they are. Maybe he's choosing not to be on so much, being more of a family dad or what not. A shame though as he is so darn good. I'll have to watch the show a few more times to see if it's going to actually be a "good show" or if it's going to be a show I watch at 10:00 pm to go to bed to.
James was underused as usual but really hot and he did the best he could to inject layers into an otherwise cardboard villain. I'll probably only watch if I know for sure James will be on it.
